Hazardouz Material and Erin Taormino Make History at World's Greatest Horseman®
The 2025 NRCHA World’s Greatest Horseman® not only marked Bluebonnet’s debut as a corporate partner of this prestigious event, it opened up a new chapter for 9-year-old stallion Hazardouz Material and rider Erin Taormino. Together, Erin and “Skeeter” claimed the title after four intense events—herd work, steer stopping, reining, and fence work – and took home the $150,000 purse.
“Champion” isn’t a new title for the striking red roan, or his rider. He and Taormino have been collecting titles since the beginning of their career together, but this triumph carries its own significance. Saturday evening, Erin made history as the first woman to win the World’s Greatest Horseman® title, and Skeeter, with his unshakable consistency, stepped into the spotlight with the kind of performance that sets legends apart. Like the true horsewoman she is, when Erin was asked to speak on the win, she simply said “...it’s all him, he’s always been there for me.”
Hazardouz Material’s journey began in 2016, born from the powerful union of $52 million sire Metallic Cat and the NRCHA’s first $1 million dam, Scooters Daisy Dukes. The stallion has thrived in Erin’s program. It’s not uncommon to find Erin spending a few extra minutes giving a horse love and scratches in a stall - or personally tending to their needs.
A walk through Erin’s facilities is a lesson in careful horse care - with exceptional air flow & clean environments, premium forage, 24/7 fresh water…and a feed room stocked with Bluebonnet. Nutrition has played a quiet yet crucial role in Skeeter’s success. Like Bluebonnet, Erin understands that success comes from beyond the saddle, and we’re proud to support equine athletes like hers with the nutrition that helps them reach their full potential.
This same formula for success was seen across the leaderboard on finals night in Ft. Worth. One Time Legend and Todd Crawford secured the Reserve Championship, and Shane Steffen and Sprinkld Confetticat claimed third place, all fueled by Bluebonnet.
When the right nutrition unlocks equine potential and pairs with fantastic horsemanship, the results speak for themselves. Bluebonnet-fueled horses continue to prove that champions aren’t just born; they’re built by a dedicated team of caretakers focused on their wellbeing.
