Nutrition Consult FAQs

What should I expect from a nutrition consultation?

When you connect with a Bluebonnet® nutrition expert, you’re not getting a script — you’re getting a real conversation with someone who understands horses and the everyday challenges that come with keeping them healthy.

Every consult is different, but depending on your needs, we may help you:

  • Make sense of forage tests (and suggest improvements if needed).

  • Build a balanced diet tailored to your horse’s lifestyle and goals.

  • Walk through allergy panel results.

  • Break down ingredient labels and show you what to look for.

  • Explore "functional" and "nutritional" supplement options, but only if they'll help your horse.
  • Talk through stress, travel, or herd dynamics that could be affecting your horse.

  • Compare feeding options and break down cost per day so you can stay on budget.

What should I NOT expect from a nutrition consultation?

We’re here to help with nutrition - but there are some things we’re not qualified (or legally allowed) to provide.

Here’s what we won’t do during a consultation:

  • Prescribe medications.
  • Give medical advice or diagnose health conditions.
  • Recommend specific training methods, riding techniques, or equipment choices.

If your horse’s situation needs medical attention or specialized support, we’ll always recommend you work with a licensed veterinarian, certified farrier, equine dentist, or professional trainer.

How long does it take to get in touch?

Following form submission, one of our nutrition consultants will reach out in 5-7 business days.

I'm not really a people person, can I learn elsewhere?
